Healdsburg is full of galleries, studios, performance spaces, and public art — but unless you already know where to look, you'll miss most of it. CUBE is funding a European-style wayfinding signage system that connects residents and visitors to every cultural destination in town, starting with a new welcome sign that sets the tone from the moment you arrive.
A signature welcome sign for Healdsburg that reflects the city's identity as an arts and culture destination — not just a wine and food town.
Directional Wayfinding
Culture at every turn.
Pedestrian-scale directional signs throughout downtown and key neighborhoods pointing to galleries, museums, studios, performance venues, and public art.
Cultural Map Integration
See the whole picture.
Physical map kiosks and a companion digital map that shows every cultural asset in Healdsburg — updated seasonally as programming evolves.
Bilingual by Default
Everyone finds their way.
Every sign, every map, every kiosk — in English and Spanish. Wayfinding isn't just navigation. It's an invitation.
Why this matters
“Creating space for greater connection between sectors provides numerous opportunities for cultural experiences to serve residents. Local culture also enhances the visitor experience, making it more natural and beneficial for all.”

The Details
A system, not a sign.
This isn't a single installation — it's a connected network that transforms how people move through Healdsburg. The wayfinding system will be designed in collaboration with local artists, fabricated by regional makers, and installed in coordination with the City. It draws directly from the Master Plan's goal to "fund wayfinding signage across the City to connect locals and visitors to cultural pulse-points and art."
City-wide
Coverage across downtown, key corridors, and neighborhood entry points.
Bilingual
Every element in English and Spanish — no afterthought translations.
Artist-designed
Local artists will be commissioned to develop the signage aesthetic, making the wayfinding system itself a piece of public art.
